Plano ISD Head Start students recently celebrated their program earning a gold certificate for 100 percent compliance with 800 standards in a spring, 2008, federal audit.
Only five percent of the Head Start programs in the region have earned this prestigious award. This Plano ISD program is in its 43rd year and serves 146 children and their families.
Head Start is housed at Meadows Elementary School, which was completely renovated over a two year period with funds from the 2004 bond program.
