Foundation Raises $1.1 Million for Schools
The Plano ISD Education Foundation raised $1.1 million in private donations in 2007-08. As a result, the non-profit organization gifted $900,000 to Plano ISD for priority programs to enhance student learning; ensure all students are college ready; recruit, retain and recognize the very best teachers; and support parents and families in student learning.

Grants to Educators
In 2007-2008, the Plano ISD Education Foundation funded $68,000 for innovative teaching programs through its annual “Grants to Educators” program. In November, 2007, Foundation volunteers and program sponsors visited schools across the district, distributing 52 awards to teachers, as a “Grant Patrol.”
The Plano ISD Education Foundation proudly received the Lexus Pursuit of Potential national award honoring the Grants to Educators program for support of the needs of area children and schools. Nominated by Park Place Lexus Plano, the award was accompanied by a $10,000 grant to the Foundation for the project. For more information about the Foundation, visit: foundation.pisd.edu
