2008 Teachers of the Year
Janet Napoli (right) and Amber Evans captured Plano ISD Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year titles, respectively, at the school district’s “String of Pearls” Teacher of the Year Gala. The annual May event, held at Plano Centre, was attended by 1,400 teachers, administrators, PTA leaders, city dignitaries and corporate sponsors who were on hand to celebrate teaching excellence. Dr. Doug Otto, superintendent of schools, made the surprise announcements. Among the teachers' many gifts were "Summer in a Lexus" packages from Park Place Lexus.
