Description:

The new procedure for the renewal of innovative courses Plano ISD offers must be submitted through the Texas Education Agency via the Alternate Innovative Course Application. Those innovative courses Plano offers which are expiring and listed on the Career and Technical Education Innovative Courses Approved in 2007 and the Commissioner's List of Innovative Courses Approved in 2007 must receive the approval of the board of trustees prior to submitting the applications to TEA. The deadline for applications is January 30, 2008. This year the district has two courses included on the above-mentioned lists to be renewed which are Veterinary Medical Assistant I and Sports and Entertainment Marketing.

Recommendation:

Approval of the alternate innovative course applications for renewal.
