Purpose: C - Discussion and input - final decision at subsequent meeting

Time: 10 minutes

Description:

Listed below are features of the 2008-09 calendar proposal:

- Monday, August 25 start date.

- Consideration for more days in the 3rd and 6th week grading periods, helpful for testing.

- Balanced semesters - three day difference.

- Designated Fair Day

- Thanksgiving break includes Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving.

- Winter Break - 2 full weeks.

- First semester exams scheduled January 12-15.

- Spring Break - March 16-20

- Last day of classes - June 5

- Inclement weather dates would be designated as Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9.
