i. Documents pertaining to the May 12, 2007 Trustee Election

Time: No time limit

Description:

ORDER and NOTICE of General Election (English and Spanish) (Two documents) -
Order for the election and Notice of the election to be held in the Plano Independent School District on Saturday, May 12, 2007, for the purpose of electing one school trustee each for positions designated as Place 1, 2 and 3.

Changes to previous polling location:
The Plano ISD will request approval from the Department of Justice to use Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, Plano, 75075, as an early voting location and request to establish this site as a permanent early voting location for this and all future Plano ISD elections. Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, 75075, was used in previous elections while Haggard Library underwent construction. Christ United Methodist Church has requested they only be used in November elections. The distance between these locations is approximately one mile.

Joint General Election Contract: Plano ISD and the City of Murphy - This agreement provides for a joint election with the Plano ISD and the City of Murphy to be held Saturday, May 12, 2007. The two entities will share equally in the expenses of the early voting location, election officials, supplies, ballots and other and all necessary expenses for the election. Expenses unique to one entity will be billed solely to that entity. The entities have contracted with Collin County Elections Administration to perform the duties and responsibilities of the election on behalf of the entities.

These documents have been reviewed and approved by legal counsel.

Recommendation:

Approve all documents as defined above relating to the May 12, 2007, General Election for the Plano ISD.
