2. Bid #2008-007 Plumbing Maintenance and Repair

Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Time: No time limit

Description:

This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of plumbing maintenance and repair for the District.

Bid notifications were sent to twenty-two vendors, and three vendors responded. The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid. The Bid Committee felt that more vendors should have responded to the bid to promote more competition. Staff determined that it would be in the best interest of the District to reject all bids at this time. A new bid process will include the solicitation of more vendors. To acquire plumbing services in the interim, Staff will use a cooperative bid with Richardson ISD.

Recommendation:

The administration recommends that all bids for the purchase of plumbing maintenance service be rejected.

Business Impact:

The estimated annual value for this bid is $90,000.00 from Contract Services Account.
