Description:
This is a compliance proposal that will establish an approved vendor and pricing for the purchase of fresh bread products throughout the District for Food and Nutritional Services. This is the first year of a multi-year contract.
Staff did a cost comparison between the two companies that submitted proposals based on the twelve most used items during the 2007-2008 school year. Earthgrains Baking Company is recommended for award of this proposal, because they offered the lowest overall pricing.

Recommendation:
The administration recommends that the purchase of fresh bread products be awarded to Earthgrains Baking Company, a subsidiary of Sara Lee Food & Beverage.
Business Impact:
Food and Nutritional Services Budget - $250,000.00
