Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all proposals and forwarded their recommendation to the Purchasing Services Department to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of refrigerants for the District. This is the first year of a renewable bid.

The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid. The Committee recommends a split award between the two responsive vendors with the lowest prices. Refron was the low bidder on Item 4 and 5, but they will not accept a split award. The Bid Committee recommends awarding these items to the next lowest bidder.

Staff performed a cost analysis based on the previous year's usage. Based on the results of the analysis, splitting the award between Coolgas Limited and Hudson gives the District the lowest cost.

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that the bid for the purchase of refrigerants be awarded to:

Coolgas Ltd. - Items 1, 2, 4 & 6 - 9
Hudson Technology -  Items 3 & 5
