Board Agenda - November 07, 2006
10. Clark Stadium Scoreboard and Sound System
Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
Quotes for the following items were requested from Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Buy Board vendors. The recommended purchase meets the criteria set forth in the Educational Code Section 44.03, Local government Code 791, and School Board Policy.
Local government code, Chapter 791, enables the District to purchase goods or services through interlocal agreements. Staff determined that the Texas Association of School Boards, Buy Board, has available approved vendors for this project.
This project will replace the scoreboard and stadium sound system with systems comparable to new systems in other primary stadiums in the area. The scoreboard includes advertising space and a video display screen that can be used for changeable messages. With additional equipment and cameras included in this proposal, this screen can be used for instant replay and live action display.
This quote was solicited under an existing TASB Buy Board contract. During the development of this proposal, two vendors were asked to submit their concepts. Based upon their submittal and the available local support and service, Daktronics was selected to develop this detailed proposal.
The scoreboard and sound system is being provided under an agreement with the vendor and not through the Construction Manager at Risk agreement in place for the Pressbox Renovation. The CM has coordinated with Daktronics for the work required in the Pressbox to accommodate the new scoreboard and sound system.
