Board Agenda - November 07, 2006
11. Lease of modular classrooms
Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
Quotes for the following items were requested from the TCPN vendor. The recommended purchase meets the criteria set forth in the Educational Code Section 44.031.
Local government code, Chapter 791, enables the District to purchase goods or services through interlocal agreements without using a bid process. Staff determined that The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) has an approved vendor for the lease of modular classroom units. Twelve classrooms are required to provide temporary space for schools that are being renovated.
Williams Scotsman has units available and is able to deliver and install them within the construction timetable for renovation projects at Bowman Middle School and Carlisle Elementary School. The current vendor for the Texas Association of School Boards BuyBoard was asked to quote this project, but they were unable to meet the project time line.
Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that the lease of modular classrooms for the Bowman Middle School and Carlisle Elementary Renovation Projects be approved.
Business Impact:
Estimated Value: $119,947.00
Budget/Financial Implication: 2004 Bond Funds
