Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of large kitchen equipment for the FANS Department. This is the first year of a renewable bid.

Invitation to Bid was sent to 15 potential bidders. Three bids were received and evaluated by FANS.

This bid was formatted for a discount from manufacturer's catalog or price list. Freight will be added when pricing is requested and will be quoted separately. Some large kitchen equipment will need to be delivered, uncrated and set in place, while other equipment may also require installation. Pricing for these services will be added to the cost of the manufacturer's discounted pricing.

To maximize ordering efficiency, staff recommends awarding all responsive bidders that offered a discount from manufacturer's catalog. Staff will evaluate and compare all costs associated with each purchase to include freight, uncrating, setting in place, and installation of large kitchen equipment as well as the discount being offered.

Pasco Brokerage, Inc. has been in business for 46 years and is located in Plano. They have been one of Plano ISD's large kitchen equipment suppliers for many years and have provided excellent service. Pasco Brokerage, Inc. can install large kitchen equipment and, with larger projects, will hire a sub-contractor. They also provided other manufacturer's discounts not listed in the specification.

Texas Food Service Equipment Co., Inc. has been in business for 10 years and is located in Manvel, TX. They have been one of Plano ISD's large kitchen equipment suppliers for the past six years and have also provided excellent service. Texas Food Service Equipment Co., Inc. can install large kitchen equipment and will hire a sub-contractor for larger projects.

American Energy Restaurant Equipment, LLC has been in business for 28 years and is located in Springfield, VA. This company is new to Plano ISD. References were called, and American Energy Restaurant Equipment, LLC was rated average and above average. American Energy Restaurant Equipment, LLC does not have a representative located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and their freight carriers offer lift-gate service, inside delivery but do not uncrate, set in place, or install. Depending on the size of the project, American Energy Restaurant Equipment, LLC will use ABF Freight for turnkey installations.

Attached is the catalog bid document that established the pricing discount.
