Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid that will establish an approved vendor and pricing for the purchase of miscellaneous security devices and equipment used throughout the District. This is the first year of a renewable bid.

The bid was formatted for a discount from catalog price. The discount from catalog allows staff the flexibility to find the items that best fit the project requirements at the most competitive price. The Safety and Security Bid Committee has reviewed this bid and recommends awarding to the vendors that offered the greatest discount off catalog pricing. Anixter, Digital Security Solutions of North Texas, and North American Video Company offered the best discounts for the greatest number of items. Staff will compare discounts on a per purchase basis to determine the best discount of each awarded vendor. Tab sheet is attached.

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that the bid for the purchase of security devices and equipment be awarded to Anixter Inc., Digital Security Solutions of North Texas, and North American Video Company.
