Presenter: Richard Matkin

Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Time: No time limit

Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid for the purchase of playground equipment and installation for all District locations. This is the first year of a renewable bid.The City of Plano is a cooperative partner in this bid.

The discount from catalog pricing format was used in this bid to accommodate the wide variety and complexity of play structures. Each play structure must be individually designed for each campus or park. To determine the best value for the District, Staff will obtain quotes for each project from this list of recommended vendors.

All vendors' products meet the manufacturer's ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials), ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), IPEMA (International Play Equipment Manufacturer's Association), and CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) current guidelines and are IS0 9001 certified (International Organization for Standardization).

All vendors have past experience with Plano ISD except for American Parks Company and GWG Wood Group, Inc. References were called and both received high marks. Tab sheet is attached.
