Description:

Proposals for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all proposals and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Education Code Section 44.031 and School Board Policy. This is a compliance proposal for the purchase of long distance phone services. The services are for a three year period. The proposals were evaluated by Technology Staff members. The Respondents were AT&T and Verizon. AT&T Long Distance is the current provider of long distance services for Plano Independent School District; however, the proposed AT&T rates are considerably higher than the rate proposed by Verizon. Staff recommends that Verizon be awarded.

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that this proposal be awarded to Verizon.
