Board Agenda - January 17, 2006
5. #3701, Parking lot striping and stenciling
Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
Bids for the following items were advertised, received and opened by the Purchasing Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to the Purchasing Department to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.
This is a compliance bid for the purchase of parking lot striping and stenciling services for all District locations. This is the first year of a renewable bid.
The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid. BTA Services provided the lowest bid and has provided excellent service in the past. BTA Services was high on only one item, which was blue curb ramp painting. The Committee's opinion was that BTA offers the best overall value, since the handicap curb ramps would not normally need repainting as often as the parking lot stripes and it is not economically feasible to have one firm paint the curbs and ramps and then have another company come out to paint the symbols. The Facility Services Bid Committee recommends BTA Services as the Primary Vendor and recommends Mister Sweeper as the Secondary Vendor.
Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that this bid be awarded to the following:
BTA Services LTD. - Primary Vendor; and Mister Sweeper - Secondary Vendor.
Business Impact:
Estimated Value: $50,000.00.
Budget/Financial Implication: Parking Lot Material Budgets.
Evaluation Criteria: Price; Vendor Reputation; Vendor's History with the District; Quality of Vendor's Service;
Best Meets the Needs of the District.
