This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of football supplies and equipment for the school year 2006-2007. This is the first year of a renewable bid. Staff has reviewed this bid and recommends the acceptance of low bid on all items with the following exceptions: Items #9, #13, #16, #24, #25, #27, #43, #45, #47, #48, and #49. Detailed justifications are provided for those exceptions as follows: Justifications: Item #9 - Low bid of $5.84 (Riddell) is not recommended - alternate item bid. Bid specifies "no sub-must match existing pads". Next low bid of $6.45 (Total Team Sports) recommended. Item #13 - Low bid of $7.60 (Sports-O-Graham) is not recommended - alternate Frazier model does not fit in a comparable manner to the Bike pad - no sample provided. Next low bid of $8.95 (Barcelona) is recommended. Item #16 - Low bid of $4.43 (BSN) is not recommended - alternate ProDown pads do not fit the football uniform pant in a comparable manner to the Nokona pad.
