XI. Documents Pertaining to the May 10, 2008 Bond Election

Description:

Resolution ordering Bond Election
The Resolution ordering a bond election in the Plano Independent School District to be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

Joint General Election Contract: Plano ISD, the City of Murphy, and the Collin County Community College District - This agreement provides for a joint election with the Plano ISD, the City of Murphy, and the Collin County Community College District to be held Saturday, May 10, 2008. The three entities will share equally in the shared expenses of polling locations, election officials, supplies, ballots and other and all necessary expenses for the election. Expenses unique to one entity will be billed solely to that entity. The entities have contracted with Collin County Elections Administration to perform the duties and responsibilities of the election on behalf of the entities.

Joint Election Agreement: Plano ISD, City of Plano, Collin County Community College District and Frisco ISD - This agreement provides for a joint election with the Plano ISD, the City of Plano, CCCCD and Frisco ISD to be held May 10, 2008. The four entities will share equally in the shared expenses of polling locations, election officials, supplies, ballots, and other and all necessary expenses for the election. Expenses unique to one entity will be billed solely to that entity. The entities have contracted with Collin County Elections Administration to perform the duties and responsibilities of the election on behalf of the entities.

This election is based on the recommendation by the 2008 Facility and Technology Task Force. It authorizes for a single proposition election. The same joint election agreements and polling locations will be used for both the Plano ISD Trustee and Bond Elections.

These documents have been reviewed and approved by legal counsel and are available for review in the Superintendent's Office.

Recommendation:

Approve all documents as defined above relating to the May 10, 2008, Special Bond Election for the Plano ISD.
