g. Historic tax abatements

Description:
For several years, the District has cooperated with the City of Plano with regard to the Historic Structure Tax Abatement Program. The program is used to encourage the preservation of historic structures that are part of the program. This year, the City has requested that the attached list of properties be abated for 2007 as historic structures have been in the past.
Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that we approve the Historic Structure Tax Abatement for 2007.
Business Impact:
There would be a tax revenue loss for this tax year of $96,852.40, less any applicable residence homestead exemption.
