Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Time: No time limit

Description:

Competitive Sealed Proposals were solicited for a Construction Manager at Risk for the New Meadows Elementary School. Proposals were received on February 8, 2007 from five construction manager firms.

An Evaluation Committee consisting of representatives from Facility Planning and Construction and the Architect reviewed the submittals. The Architect made reference calls on the firms who submitted proposals. The results of these telephone reference calls were reviewed by the Committee. Following review and discussion of the submitted information, the Evaluation Committee made its recommendation.

Summary: The contract award at this time will commit the Pre-Construction Period Fee and will set the rate for the Construction Period Fee. Prior to committing any funds to the cost of construction, a Guaranteed Maximum Price will be presented to the Board for approval, and a contract amendment will be required.
Pre-Construction Services Fee (Lump Sum Amount): $10,000.00
Construction Period Fee (% of the Cost of Construction): 3.35%
Estimated Construction Budget, including Fee: $14,000,000.00

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that the contract for Construction Manager at Risk for the New Meadows Elementary School be awarded to Cadence McShane Corporation.
