4. #3744 - Fire Sprinkler Inspection and Service

Description:

There are two projects for installation of dry-pipe fire protection sprinkler systems. Both are proposed through the currently awarded vendor on Bid 3744 and have been reviewed with the District's Safety and Security Department. The amount of these projects exceeds the previously approved annual expenditure estimates of Bid 3744.

The work at Clark Stadium provides a new system for the ground level spaces on the Home Side. These areas currently do not have fire sprinkler protection. This requirement was identified by the City of Plano at the completion of the work at the new Press Box. This work was not included in the Press Box project.

The work at Kimbrough Stadium provides an enhanced fire protection system for the Home Side Press Box. This was initiated by Safety and Security following the annual inspections.

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that the following projects for the installation of fire protection sprinkler systems be awarded to Excel Fire Protection Systems, LP, in the following amounts:

Clark Stadium $48,500.00
Kimbrough Stadium $54,359.00

Business Impact:

2004 Bond funds-$102,859.00
