Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to the Purchasing Services Department to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.
This is a compliance bid that will establish an approved vendor and pricing for the purchase of canvas awnings for the District. This is the first year of a renewable bid.
The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid and recommends awarding the vendor that offered the lowest responsive bid. USA Canvas Shoppe provided the lowest material pricing, the lowest installer labor rate and the quickest delivery time of thirty (30) days. USA Canvas Shoppe has provided excellent service on the previous bid for which they were the sole awarded vendor. ACF Tarp and Awning offers delivery in forty-five (45) days and their material and installer labor rates are higher. To ensure adequate service, the Committee also recommends that ACF Tarp be awarded as the secondary vendor in case the primary vendor is unable to meet our needs. ACF Tarp also offered a discount off catalog for other items. Staff recommends that they be awarded the discount off catalog section of the bid.
