Description:
Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.
This is a compliance bid that will establish an approved vendor and pricing for the inspection and repair of gymnasium bleachers for the District. This is the first year of a renewable bid.
The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid. The Committee recommends awarding the vendor offering the lowest bid, excluding the exceptions discussed in the paragraph below. John F. Clark Company provided the lowest responsive bid and has provided excellent service to the District on previous bids. There were several line items that reflected a"No Bid" response. These items are no longer serviced by John F. Clark Company.
Even though Specialty Supply was the sole bidder for several of the bleacher inspection line items, their pricing was determined to be unreasonably high. Therefore, the Bid Committee recommends utilizing a co-op bid to cover the bleacher inspections at the schools which were "No Bid" by John F. Clark Company.
Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that the bid for the inspection of gymnasium bleachers be awarded to:
John F. Clark Co - Line Items: 6, 16, 21, 22, 26, 30-32, 34-38, and 40-43
No Bid Line Items: 1-5, 7-15, 17-20,
Items Not Recommended for Award: Line Items: 23-25, 27-29, 33, and 39
