Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
Competitive Sealed Proposals for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all proposals and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Education Code and School Board Policy.
Competitive Sealed Proposals were solicited for this work. Two Contractors responded, and their proposals were received and opened on May 10, 2007. Representatives from Facility Planning and Construction and the Architect evaluated the Proposals in accordance with the published criteria and their relative weights.
Summary:
This proposal provides for replacement of the roof on the majority of the Service Center. The Evaluation Team checked references and evaluated the proposals. During the evaluation, and in clarification conversations with the Proposers, it was confirmed the lowest proposal did not comply with the proposal documents. The materials the Proposer included in their proposal are not as specified, and are not recommended by the Architect or the roofing consultant. Based upon the review of the remaining Proposer's qualifications and understanding of the work, the Evaluation Committee is recommending the proposal of Benco Commercial Roofing be accepted.
One alternate was also bid to include power ventilation for the warehouse area. This alternate was considered during the evaluation and reviewed with the Facility Maintenance Department. This Alternate is not recommended.
