l. Contract Addendum Between GCA Services and Plano ISD

Description:

The contract between GCA Services and Plano ISD is being amended to pass the federal minimum increase to all hourly employees and provide a CPI (Consumer Price Index) increase over the remaining cost of the contract. Normally, pay for an hourly employee is calculated using the lower of the CPI and a PISD maintenance employee raise. This increase was calculated and included in the 2008-09 budget. The projected budget for daily custodial service is $9,353,158.

The contract is also being amended to be in effect for price adjustments annually on July 1st of each year. The CPI for rate adjustments will be measured for a 12 month period beginning January 1st of the prior year and going into effect July 1st following the 12 month period.

Recommendation:

The administration recommends that the contract between GCA Services and Plano ISD be amended as of July 1, 2008.
