3. Bid 2008-021- Laminating Film and Laminators

Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Time: No time limit

Description:

This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of laminating film and laminators for Plano ISD. This is the first year of a renewable bid. Purchasing Services has reviewed the above-referenced bid.

Staff recommends awarding to the Bidders offering the lowest pricing with the following exceptions. The exceptions are Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 5, and Line 8. The justifications for exceptions are listed on the tabsheet for each line. Tab sheet is attached.

Recommendation:

The administration recommends that this bid be awarded to the following:

Scott Electric - Line 1
Competitive Edge - Lines 2, 3, 4
School Specialty - Line 5
GBC-General Binding Corp. - Line 6
GBC-General Binding Corp. - Line 8

Staff recommends the following firms be awarded for line item 7: Brodart Co., Competitive Edge, Asel Art Supply, Inc., GBC-General Binding Corp., Office Depot, and Educator's Depot, Inc.

Business Impact:

Various Campus Operating Budgets-$75,000.00.
