7. RFP 2008-029 - Temporary Labor: Cafeteria Workers
Presenter: Richard Matkin
Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required
Time: No time limit
Description:
This is a compliance proposal that will establish approved vendors for temporary labor for Food and Nutritional Services (FANS). This is the first year of a renewable proposal.
Proposal notifications were sent to twenty-two potential companies. Five proposals were received. Of the five, BPI Temporaries is the only new vendor.
Proposals were reviewed using price, reputation, quality of service, and which vendor best meets the District's needs as the evaluative criteria. Since it has been very difficult to staff the schools with qualified employees, FANS recommends that all vendors be awarded. During the school year, FANS will need approximately fifteen to twenty employees a week and at the beginning of the school year, they will need approximately thirty temporary employees.
Tab sheet is attached.
