Description:

This Change Order provides for a revision to the fire protection sprinkler system serving the Pressbox. The original design included a motor and pump to raise water to the top of the Pressbox for the fire protection system. The design team continued to work with the City code requirements as the construction was underway. While the new design required some rework and a change of pipe size, it now provided the required fire protection without the use of any motors or pumps. This is a benefit to the District in the long term by eliminating the regular maintenance and replacement costs for the motor and pump.

The Contract Time is also being extended to August 13, 2007 by the work of this Change Order. This new date of Substantial Completion is still prior to the first scheduled use of the facility.

The Architect for the work has reviewed the pricing and has prepared and executed the Change Order form. The Contractor has executed the Change Order form.
