Board Agenda - October 02, 2007

VII. Nominate candidate for Collin County Central Appraisal District

Presenter: Doug Otto

Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Time: 5 minutes

Description:

One of the strengths of the Central Appraisal District (CAD) has been the "non-political" nature of board membership. Over the decade of its existence, the CAD has approached the difficult task of appraising property for property tax purposes at a high level of professionalism.

The Collin County Central Appraisal District has the reputation of being one of the best, if not the best, central appraisal districts in the state. Composition of the board of directors has been a contributing factor to the quality of CAD efforts.

Dr. Leo Fitzgerald has been the candidate nominated by the Plano Independent School District. Dr. Fitzgerald is a retired Plano physician and former PISD Board Trustee. He has performed well for the district. I recommend that he be nominated to serve another two-year term, if he agrees to do so. Please call me if you have questions.

Recommendation:

Nominate Dr. Leo Fitzgerald to serve on Central Appraisal District Board of Directors for Collin County.

Business Impact:

None
