Description:

The Collin County Appraisal District and the Collin County Tax Office have finalized the 2006 Appraisal Roll for the Plano Independent School District. Section 26.09 of the Texas Property Tax Code refers to the approved roll of each taxing entity constituting the unit's tax roll. The Board of Trustees needs to approve the certified Tax Roll value and levy.

The tax levy is applied to the tax roll that was certified by the Appraisal District in July 2006. The budget was based on preliminary property growth of 3.4%. Final property value growth was 5.83%. The tax levy based on the increased property value generates additional tax revenue for both the Operating Fund and the I & S Fund. This tax levy will fluctuate throughout the year due to adjustments and supplements to the tax roll.

Recommendation:

The administration recommends that the Board approve the 2006 Tax Roll for the Plano Independent School District as submitted.
