Description:
This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of library and classroom books for the school year 2006-2007. This is the first year of a renewable bid.
Because of the large number and variety of books ordered through the libraries and other departments or schools, Staff feels that it is in the best interest of Plano ISD to offer as many choices as possible for ordering. This allows Staff the flexibility in ordering either directly from the publisher or through the jobber that offers the best value and best meets the needs of each order.
Staff has evaluated the bid responses and recommends that all of the responsive bidders be awarded.
Recommendation:
The book publishing companies and book providers on the attached document are recommended for the 2006-07 school year. Because some companies provide more comprehensive coverage of the various categories, they will be listed as General Book Vendors. Other categories will be identified specifically.
