Description:
This Change reconciles the allowance balances remaining in the project and reduces the contract by the unused amount. The majority of this change order amount is due to a reduction in scope in this Project. The kitchen and serving line improvements in the original design were omitted and will be packaged with a more complete renovation that will be initiated through the Bond 2008 proposal. A temporary serving line, that had been omitted in previous years, was re-installed to facilitate the campus needs. Also, contributing to this final cost are sub-contract buy-out savings and a reduction in the Construction Manager's fee due to the reduction in cost.
The Work of this Contract has been completed, the required closeout documentation is being completed and the Project is ready for Final Acceptance.

Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that Change Order No. 1 in the deductive amount of $1,100,606.00 be approved. The Architect has reviewed this Change Order and he concurs with the amount. The Administration also recommends that the work for the Plano East Senior High School Addition and Improvements be accepted, and that final payment, including the release of retainage, be made to The Beck Group.
