VII. Boundary Recommendations for Schell Elementary School

Description:
Below is the Administration's recommendation for the school boundary for A.R. Schell Jr. Elementary School. Schell Elementary will be opening for the 2007-08 school year. Schell Elementary is located North of Renner Road and East of Brand Road in Richardson.
The boundary relieves Boggess, Miller and Stinson Elementary Schools. Attached is a summary of events for the Boundary Proposal process. Public hearings were held at all effected campuses. The feeder pattern for all elementary schools in this agenda item will be Murphy Middle School, Williams High School and Plano East Senior High School. Also attached is a map of the proposed Elementary School Boundary for this area.
Boggess ES Boundaries:
Boggess boundaries will remain intact with the exception of these planning areas, which will attend Schell Elementary School.

Miller ES Boundaries: Miller boundaries will remain intact with the exception of one planning area, which will attend Schell Elementary School.

Stinson ES Boundaries: Stinson boundaries will remain intact with the exception of these planning areas, which will attend Schell Elementary School.

Recommendation:
The Administration recommends the boundary for A.R. Schell Jr. Elementary School be approved as submitted. The administration also recommends grandfathering the current fourth graders that choose to remain at their current elementary school for their fifth-grade year. Transportation will not be provided by the District and siblings would not have the option to stay. The administration recommends that transfers not be allowed into Stinson, Boggess, Miller and Schell Elementary Schools for the 2007-2008 school year to allow enrollment to stabilize.
