Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received, and opened by the Purchasing Services Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to Purchasing Services to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid that will establish approved vendors and pricing for the purchase of miscellaneous HVAC parts and supplies used throughout the District. This is the first year of a renewable bid.

The bid was formatted for a discount from catalog price as well as specific items. The discount from catalog allows staff the flexibility to find the items that best fit the project requirements at the most competitive price. The Facility Services Bid Committee has reviewed this bid and recommends awarding the bid to the vendors that offered the greatest discount off manufacturers' catalog pricing as well as the lowest price per specific bid line item. There were several line items where tie bids were received, and Staff recommends the following:

Items 1 & 2-Trane is recommended as the primary vendor because of the excellent past relationship with the District. Industrial Equipment is a new vendor and is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Item 5-Baker Distributing is a local vendor and recommended as the primary vendor. Barsco is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Items 36 & 38-C&W Electric Supply is a local vendor that has given the District excellent service and is recommended as the primary vendor. Barsco is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Item 52-Temperature Control is recommended as the primary vendor because of their excellent past relationship with the District. Industrial Equipment is a new vendor and is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Items 53, 54, 55, 59, 77 & 106-C&W Electric Supply is a local vendor that has given the District excellent service and is recommended as the primary vendor. Johnstone Supply & A&W Bearing are recommended as secondary vendors.

Item 69-Johnstone Supply is recommended as the primary vendor because they have given the district good service in the past. Industrial Equipment is a new vendor and is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Item 72-C&W Electric Supply is a local vendor that has given the District excellent service and is recommended as the primary vendor. Industrial Equipment is a new vendor and is recommended as the secondary vendor.

Discounts from catalog list price were requested for Items 32 through 168. To maximize ordering efficiency, the Committee recommends awarding all responsive bidders that offered a discount from each listed manufacturer's catalog. Staff will select the appropriate vendor offering the best value and availability for purchases.

All vendors offering discounts off catalog pricing offered on Line #169 are recommended.

TAC was the sole bidder on Line #19 and C&W Electric Supply was the sole bidder on Lines #32, #37, #39, #41, #43, #47, #49, #50, #51, #56, #57, #58, #66, #76, #80, #81, #82, #91, #92, #100, #101, #117, #120, #122, #130, #131, #135, #138, #140, #141, #147, #150 & #151.
