Description:
The Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk at the June 6, 2006 Board Meeting. Since that time, Starling Richardson has solicited and taken subcontract bids and using that information, has submitted their Guaranteed Maximum Price of $8,509,000.00 for this work. The Guaranteed Maximum Price as submitted includes the fees for Construction Period Services that were previously approved by the Board on June 6, 2006. By the contractual definition, the Construction Manager's Fee for Construction Period Services is a part of the Guaranteed Maximum Price.
The summary below represents the allocation as will be shown in the contract. The original construction budget was $8.37M with an additional $400K set aside from undesignated System & Compliance Funds. This puts the Mathews entire program budget at $10.4M, of which $8.7M is construction.
The breakdown of costs has been reviewed by the Architect and this Department. Items have been clarified as necessary. The Architect recommends the GMP amount presented and represents the GMP reflects the requirements outlined by the District.

Pre- Construction Services Fee (previously approved): $ 7,500.00
Guaranteed Maximum Price (includes previously
approved Construction Services Fee at 3.0%):
$ 8,509,000.00
Recommendation:
The Administration recommends that the Contract for Construction Manager at Risk with the Starling Richardson be amended to provide the Guaranteed Maximum Price of $8,509,000.00, for the Mathews Elementary School Addition and Renovation.
