PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT

Plano Family Literacy

The Plano Family Literacy School (PFL) seeks to create meaningful connections in literacy learning for families with language barriers at home or at school. This allows parents and family members to actively participate in language learning with their children through adult english education and GED preparation, thus empowering our students and their families in the community.

5th Grade Camp

Outdoor School Classes at Collin County Adventure Camp Outdoor School classes are an extension of school curriculum for all Plano ISD 5th graders. The students participate in 4 outdoor classes while at camp to understand and experience interactive learning in nature. The students have the opportunity to interact with their natural environment and see how they impact it on a daily basis through hands-on activities, demostrations and teamwork exercises.

AVID

AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Spanning from 7th grade to high school graduation, AVID seeks to create a learning environment conducive to college achievement and developing a long-term interest in academic development.

Grants to Educators
