Teacher Job Fair

In order for applicants to receive an invitation to the Teacher Job Fair, the following qualifications must be met:

  • Must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
  • Must be highly qualified under the requirements of No Child Left Behind.
  • All elementary candidates must have ESL certification in order to be offered a teaching position in PISD.
  • Must successfully pass the criminal history/background check.
  • Register by April 8, 2016. This timeline will be strictly enforced.
  • Current 2015.2016 Plano ISD teachers are not eligible to attend the Teacher Job Fair.

Under the "attachments" section, attach your resume. You may also attach any other certification documents you may have. For example:

  • Out-of-state certificates
  • Statement of eligibility from alternative certification programs
  • University letter of intent
  • Transcripts of all colleges/universities attended

On the final screen, you will need to submit the application.

New Applicants

On the final screen, click the submit button. A message will appear with instructions for completing the Gallup Teacher Insight assessment. Once you have completed the assessment, you may submit your application.

Current Plano ISD Paraprofessionals

If you are a current Plano ISD paraprofessional seeking a promotion to transfer into a teaching position, and have met all of the qualification requirements, you are eligible to attend the Teacher Job Fair.

To apply for Teacher Job Fair, please update your transfer application using the following directions:

Complete the transfer application in TEAMS.

Under additional questions, make sure you answer the following question:

  • If you are a paraprofessional seeking a promotion to a teaching position, and you wish to attend the Teacher Job fair, please select 'Yes.'

Answering this question will serve as your application to Teacher Job Fair. Eligible applicants will receive an invitation to the Teacher Job fair by April 15, 2016.

Professional Applicants

During the application process, you may be directed to complete the Gallup TeacherInsight™ before your application can be submitted.  With the introduction of the new TeacherInsight™ 2.0, all applicants who have previously taken the TeacherInsight™ will be required to take the new assessment instrument.

  • You will need to reserve at least 45 minutes to take this multiple choice and free response instrument; there are no right or wrong answers.
  • If you have completed the TeacherInsight™ 2.0 for another entity, you will receive instructions directly from Gallup to transfer your TeacherInsight™ assessment.
  • After completing the TeacherInsight™, you will need to revisit the Plano ISD application to complete and submit.

Criminal History Guidelines

Every person who wishes to serve as a District employee, volunteer, camp counselor, private teacher or contractor, or any other person who will have contact with District students shall have a criminal history search performed. More informationPDF file

The 80th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 9 (SB 9), which mandated the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to acquire criminal history through fingerprint submission on: (1) all certified educators who are currently employed, (2) all substitutes and (3) non-certified employees hired after January 1, 2008. This process requires the individual to hold a state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID card.

Application Information

The Employee Recruitment and Retention staff, principals and other administrators review applications as needed.  Administrators access applications to consider for available positions.  The administrator exercises his / her discretion in determining which applicants to contact and interview.  Applicants are welcome to send a letter of interest and resume via e-mail to the administrators or campuses for which they have an interest.

Job applicants may take advantage of a computer kiosk located at the Plano ISD Administration Building, human resources department, to complete the required online application and receive staff assistance.
