Thank you for your interest in serving as a substitute for Plano ISD.

Becoming a Substitute

  1. Complete an online application  Opens new window

  2. Mail the required documents to the Plano ISD HR Substitute Office, 2700 W. 15th St. Plano TX  75075. (See table below). 

  3. Mail or fax three completed PISD Reference Forms to the HR Substitute Office.

  4. A criminal background check will be conducted upon receipt of your online application, three PISD reference forms, official college transcripts or your high school diploma.  You will be notified by letter regarding the next scheduled orientation meeting. 

  5. Print and bring to the following forms to the orientation meeting.  Substitute New Hire Packet  PDF fileincluding the I-9 form PDF file, W-4 form PDF fileand Direct Deposit enrollment form PDF file.

Note:  Applicants who attended a university located outside of the U.S. must meet current criteria for substitution and  have their degree transcripts evaluated by an accredited international degree equivalency evaluator web page marker.

Substitute Positions Required Documents
Teacher

Bachelor's degree.  Official college transcripts indicating degree conferred.   (photocopies are not accepted)

Licensed Nurse or Professional Official college transcript and photocopy of current license
Paraprofessional (i.e. classroom assistant or clerical position) Photocopy of High school diploma
