Effective January 12, 2015, we are no longer accepting new substitute applicants for the 2014-2015 school year.

If you would like to be considered as a substitute for the 2015-2016 school year, you may submit or update your online application after July 1, 2015 at https://oea.pisd.edu/submission/.  You will need to have at least 2 professional references with accurate email addresses listed in your online application.  The reference process is electronic; therefore, accurate email addresses must be listed.  If you have worked for a school district, your former principal/supervisor must be listed as a reference. We strongly recommend you contact your references and notify them they will be receiving electronic reference requests.  Delays in reference submissions will slow down the process.  If you are applying for a substitute teaching role, you will also be required to complete the TeacherInsight™ Survey.

Please note: In mid-July, we will begin the selection process for new PISD substitutes. Selection of substitutes is based on a review of your application and the current needs of our district. Preference may be given to applicants who hold current education certifications with the state of Texas. If you are selected, you will be contacted via email.Please make sure your current, active email address is listed in your online application.

Current / Former PISD Employees:  Once you have submitted a resignation and it has been processed by Human Resources, you may complete the online application from the link above, select New Applicant and create a new TEAMS user ID and password.  After you have submitted your online application, send an e-mail stating your interest in substituting during the upcoming school year to substitute@pisd.edu.  In your e-mail, please indicate your status as a former employee and if you have recently retired through TRS.

NOTE: If you have recently retired through TRS, we will begin the hiring process for you thirty days after the later of: the date you receive your last PISD paycheck; or your last day of employment.
