Student Performances Highlight Martin Luther King Tribute Event

More than 1,000 students, parents, educators and community leaders joined hearts and hands to celebrate the life and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on January 19 at Plano Centre. Students read original letters to Dr. King and performed theatrically and musically in honor of the civil rights leader. read

Katrina Student Discovers Prehistoric
Fish on Plano West Senior High Campus

A Hurricane Katrina evacuee enrolled at Plano West Senior High School and his biology teacher discovered what students have affectionately named "X-fish" - a prehistoric "Xiphactinus audax" - on the school grounds. Excavation of the fossil has been a community affair, teaming a diverse group of students and adults. read

Trustees Invite Public to Town Hall
Meeting on 'Key School' Initiatives

The school board will host a town hall meeting from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13, at Weatherford Elementary School, 2941 Mollimar Drive. Principal Arron Moeller and his staff will update the community on "Key School" initiatives at Weatherford. read
