Teacher
of the Year Gala - May 11, 2006
Plano
ISD's Annual Teacher of the Year Gala will be held the evening
of Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Plano Centre, 2000 E. Spring
Creek Parkway. The gala theme will be "Night
of a Thousand Stars: An Evening in Ole San Antone." More
than 1,400 educators, parents, sponsors and other community
leaders
will attend the gala to celebrate
teaching excellence.
Chairing
the gala planning committee are Karla Oliver, Plano ISD
executive director for government and community relations,
and Ann
Boswell, community
leader
and
Plano ISD
Council of PTAs board member.
 "The
Teacher of the Year Gala is one of Plano ISD's most exciting
and rewarding events," noted
Ms. Oliver, who remarked about the Ole San Antone theme, "With
the Texas Teacher of the Year right here in Plano ISD,
a Texas theme is most appropriate!"
Ms.
Oliver will join a group of district and community leaders
who will interview the Experienced Teachers of the Year (see
list above) in February and make selections for Plano
ISD's 2006 Teachers of the Year (elementary and secondary)
and top "Excellence
in Teaching" award winners who will
all be announced at the May 11 gala.
