Westinghouse Finalists
Four Plano ISD students
have been named Regional Finalists in the prestigious
Siemens Westinghouse Competition. Jeff Nanney and Erik
Feng, Plano East Senior High School, and Wilson
Hseih and Lisa Herrington, Plano West Senior High
School are Finalists in the national competition, which
encourages students to undertake research
in
science,
math, engineering and technology.

Accomplishments
An advanced placement physics camp, summer research
internships, faculty and student scholarships, dual-admissions
agreements and an executive coaching program are among
the achievements of the Hi-TECCC Coalition. Celebrating
its one-year anniversary, the coalition brings together
area corporations and educational entities to promote
high-quality science, technology, engineering and math
education for North Texas students |

Make
State Honor Roll
Wilson Middle School and Clark High School
are among 130 Texas schools recently named to the list
of 2005 TBEC/JFTK Honor Roll Schools. Sponsored by The
Texas Business and Education Coalition and Just for the
Kids,
the Honor Roll recognizes schools that meet demanding
performance standards for three consecutive

Specialist Honored by Forum
Memorial
Elementary School Literacy Specialist Ann Gray was
honored with an "Educator Award" for outstanding
community service at the Plano Community
Forum’s
23rd Annual Banquet.

Scientists Attend Expo in Chile
Daniel Wang and Enhao Li attended 2005 Expo Science
International in Santiago, Chile, this summer. During their visit, they were
honored to be invited to the United States Embassy to celebrate
the July
4th
Holiday with the U.S. Ambassador.
