than 7,000 students from grades K-12 who will enroll

Open House
Plano ISD's Annual Recruitment
Open House will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
on Saturday, March 18, at Plano West Senior High School.
Administrators from every PISD school will be on hand
to discuss job opportunities with qualified applicants.

Safety Workshops
Parents and interested
community members are
invited to two upcoming seminars on Internet
safety. Renner Middle School will host a program
on protecting children
from online sex predators on March 21, and Texas
Attorney
General Greg
Abbott will host
a seminar on April 20 at PISD's Sockwell
Center. |

Prek
& Kindergarten Registration
This month, Plano
schools will register our community’s
youngest learners for the 2006-07 school year. On March
23 and
24, elementary
schools will register kindergarten students. Early
childhood schools will register students on March 30,
31 and April

PTA
Council Vendor Fair
The Plano ISD Council
of PTAs will host its 11th Annual Vendor and Program
Fair on Saturday, April 1, at Jasper High School. The
free event allows PTAs and others to explore fundraising
and program options.

Superintendent's
Award Nominees
Nearly 75 support staff
members who work in school offices, classrooms, cafeterias,
drive buses and assist
in other capacities have been nominated for Dr. Doug
Otto's 7th Annual Superintendent's Service Award. Nominees
will be honored at Plano ISD's April 6 service award
event, where a few top winners will be announced by
the superintendent.

Students
'Speak Up'
NetDay has announced "America’s
Top 100 Schools for Supporting Student Voices in Technology." Students
and teachers at Rice, Robinson and Frankford middle
schools; Clark, Jasper and Shepton high schools; and
Plano East
and Plano West senior high schools were honored for
making
PISD one of the top districts in the U.S. for
responding to the online surveys.  |
