Best Places to Work Logo

Plano ISD employees voted their school district among the top 70 “Best Places to Work in 2006” in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, in a recent "Dallas Business Journal" survey. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto and other PISD officials will represent our 7,000 employees at an upcoming awards luncheon, and Plano ISD will be profiled as one of the “Good Guys ” in the Journal’s May 5 issue.

Plano ISD's "Summer Opportunities for Learning" will attract more than 7,000 students from grades K-12 who will enroll in both remedial and enrichment programs. View our Summer School website for lists of courses and registration dates. read

Recruitment Open House

Plano ISD's Annual Recruitment Open House will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Plano West Senior High School. Administrators from every PISD school will be on hand to discuss job opportunities with qualified applicants. read

Internet Safety Workshops

Parents and interested community members are invited to two upcoming seminars on Internet safety. Renner Middle School will host a program on protecting children from online sex predators on March 21, and Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will host a seminar on April 20 at PISD's Sockwell Center.read

Prek & Kindergarten Registration

This month, Plano schools will register our community’s youngest learners for the 2006-07 school year. On March 23 and 24, elementary schools will register kindergarten students. Early childhood schools will register students on March 30, 31 and April 1. See our district web site for schedules. read

   

PTA Vendor Fair

 

PTA Council Vendor Fair

The Plano ISD Council of PTAs will host its 11th Annual Vendor and Program Fair on Saturday, April 1, at Jasper High School. The free event allows PTAs and others to explore fundraising and program options. read

Superintendent's Award Nominees

Nearly 75 support staff members who work in school offices, classrooms, cafeterias, drive buses and assist in other capacities have been nominated for Dr. Doug Otto's 7th Annual Superintendent's Service Award. Nominees will be honored at Plano ISD's April 6 service award event, where a few top winners will be announced by the superintendent. read

Students 'Speak Up'

NetDay has announced "America’s Top 100 Schools for Supporting Student Voices in Technology." Students and teachers at Rice, Robinson and Frankford middle schools; Clark, Jasper and Shepton high schools; and Plano East and Plano West senior high schools were honored for making PISD one of the top districts in the U.S. for responding to the online surveys. read
