On
Thursday, November 2, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug
Otto and the Plano ISD Board of Trustees will present
a state-of-the-district report at a community forum to be
held at the school district's Sockwell Center, 3601 Chapel
Hill Boulevard. Presentations begin at 7:00 p.m. and will
include such topics as: closing the achievement gap, college
readiness,
financial progress, bond
programs,
accountability ratings and 2006-07 district goals. Invitation & Map

Annual 'Diversity Leadership Award' Nominations Sought
Through Dec. 12
Nominations for Plano
ISD's Sixth Annual Diversity Leadership Award will
be accepted through December 12. Students, staff
and school groups may be nominated for making a difference
in the improvement of relations between individuals
and groups of different races, cultures, ethnicities
or religions.

Educator Captures Altrusa's 'Outstanding Woman of Today'
Award
Vision, compassion, unwavering focus on students'
needs are a few words used to describe Marilyn Brooks,
Plano ISD educator, who won top honors recently as
a local Altrusa International's "Outstanding
Woman of Today...Builder of Tomorrow."

for Display at The Shops at Willow Bend
Pre-school children
at Plano ISD's Beaty Early Childhood School decorated
40 pairs of Ked's tennis shoes for The Shops at Willow
Bend "Happy Feet" display. Students read
the related book, then got busy with the help of
their teachers in turning the tennis shoes into symbols
of happiness.

The
Plano ISD Board of Trustees will conduct a business
meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November
7, at
Plano ISD’s
Administrative Center, 2700 W. 15th Street. The meeting
agenda will be posted this week as the Current
Agenda

board's website.
