All certified teachers, administrators, librarians and counselors are invited to attend Plano ISD's Annual Recruitment Open House. Administrators representing every school in Plano ISD will be present to meet and talk with you about teaching opportunities.

Teacher Instructing StudentsEvent Overview

Applicants should bring several copies of resumes, teaching certificate or college letter of anticipated completion. To qualify for the event you must have verifiable credentials.

All applicants are required to present proof of certification or proof of anticipated certification. A certified applicant is an individual who currently holds a standard, provisional or professional Texas Certification or who is certified in another state. If you have completed a university teaching program and will be certified by the start of the 2007-2008 school year you are eligible to attend.

If you are currently accepted in an alternative certification program in the following critical need areas: bilingual, secondary science, secondary math, special education and Spanish you are also eligible to attend.

Plano ISD has employed approximately 30 percent of its teaching staff from candidates who participate in the Recruitment Open House. The district continues to attract more applicants each year to this event.

Pre-registration will end at 5:00 p.m. on February 28

After February 28, you will only be able to attend as a walk-in applicant. To register as a walk-in on the day of the event, bring copies of your teaching certification and/or university letter of completion.

Applicants currently enrolled in an alternative certification program (bilingual, Spanish, special education, secondary science or secondary math only) please bring a copy of your current letter of acceptance in order to be admitted to the open house.

If possible, as a walk-in, please complete an online employment application prior to attending.

Curriculum Demos, Bus Tours, Student Performances

The Recruitment Open House will include interactive demonstrations of Plano ISD's elementary and secondary online curriculum planners, bus tours and showcases of student artwork and performances celebrating our school district's rich diversity and educational excellence.

Bus tours will be available for any interested applicant. The buses will depart from Murphy Middle School at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and will return to the school in approximately one hour. The tour will showcase points of interest throughout Plano ISD and the City of Plano. Seating is limited. If you are interested, please indicate by e-mail to recruitment@pisd.edu.
