Summer Opportunities for Learning
Summer School Student

Plano ISD's "Summer Opportunities for Learning" will attract more than 7,000 students in grades K-12 who enroll in both remedial and enrichment classes. Registration packets will be sent home with elementary students after spring break. Counselors will share summer program information with students at middle and high schools.read

PSHS Academic Decathlon Wins State

Plano Senior High School Academic Decathlon Teammates captured the state title and are heading to Honolulu, Hawaii, in late April to compete for the national championship. Plano students earned nearly $20,000 in scholarships at the state contest.

Plano Students Sweep Science Fair

Plano students swept the North Dallas Regional Elementary Science Fair grand prizes on February 22, following a successful District Science Fair held on February 17. Congratulations, student winners!

Kyle Freas  

Top Texas High School Volunteer

Kyle Freas, Plano West Senior High School, has been named Texas' top high school volunteer through the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. He and Distinguished Finalist Deanna Mei, Plano Senior High School, were honored recently. This is Kyle's second consecutive year to win the award. He will be recognized in Washington, D.C., where 10 national winners will be honored. Winning Volunteer Projects (35k)

13 Teams Advance to DI State Tournament

Plano ISD students on 13 Destination ImagiNation teams advanced from regionals to the state competition to be held mid-April. More than 125 teams from grades k-12 participated in the regional event. DI fosters problem solving skills, creativity and imagination.
