Board Adopts 2007-2010 Technology Plan
The
Plano ISD Board of Trustees
at their May 15 meeting hosted its first presentation of
TI Foundation Innovations in STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering
and Mathematics)
Teaching Awards. Six
Plano ISD teachers were honored
as finalists, and two of
the finalists were announced at the meeting as
winners. At
the same meeting, trustees adopted the 2007-2010 Technology
Plan (article below).
STEM
Teaching Award Winners
The
following two teachers each
earned $5,000 cash awards and $5,000 for classroom technology
and professional development.

principals nominated teachers for the STEM awards,
and both principal and nominee completed applications. District
educators reviewed applications and selected six finalists
who were each visited in their classrooms by a final selection
committee.

Plano
ISD 2007-2010 Technology Plan
Also
at their May 15 meeting, school trustees approved the Plano
ISD 2007-2010 Technology Plan.
Presented
by Jim Hirsch, associate superintendent for academic and
technology services, the plan was prepared by Plano ISD's
Technology Steering Committee. The committee used an inclusive
process involving
campus-based discussions
with
students
and staff, focus
groups and large group meetings and a variety
of online information gathering techniques.
