Grants to Educators

The Plano ISD Education Foundation will host educator grant information sessions on August 28 and 29 for teachers, PTAs and administrators interested in applying for the Foundation's 2006 Grants to Educators Program. The deadline for application is September 15.

David Carroll

PWSH Physics Department Chair Honored for Technology Innovation

David Carroll was the sole educator presented with the Metroplex Technology Business Council's "Tech Titan" Award at an August 18 gala attended by 1,500 Dallas-area technology and business leaders. He was joined on stage by seven Plano ISD science and math teachers who were honored as finalists.read

Plano Schools Earn $300,000+ from State

The success of Plano ISD's Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs has earned nine schools in excess of $300,000 to be distributed by the Texas Education Agency to the campuses and faculty as bonus pay.read

Schools Earn Top Recycling Awards

The Shepton High School Stallions "reined in" 20 tons of waste, and the Meadows Elementary Bulldogs were "rough" on more than 30 tons of single stream and organic waste last year, earning them kudos from the North Texas Recycling Association. The schools won top awards on August 11 for efforts to recycle.read
