Red Ribbon Week
"Hats Off" to Plano ISD students and staff for celebrating Red Ribbon Week with style. Students "pledged to be drug free," participated in parades and school assemblies, "teamed up" and "banded together" to promote a drug-free world. Older students reminded each other, "If you booze, you lose," and they joined their parents at a drug prevention forum co-hosted by Plano ISD and the Collin County Substance Abuse Coalition. TBEC 2007 Honor Roll Schools
Eight Plano ISD campuses were recently named to the prestigious '2007 Honor Roll Schools' list by the Texas Business and Education Coalition. Schools earn the honor by demonstrating three consecutive years of sustained academic excellence.
West Wolves Earn Lone Star Cup
Plano West Senior High School Principal Kathy King proudly displayed the "Texas Dodge Dealers Lone Star Cup" to the Wolves Football players and fans during a recent pre-game ceremony.
Canned Food Drives Underway
Plano schools will once again partner with the Plano Santas to conduct annual canned food drives, which will assist more than 500 families in need this holiday season. Look for collection sites at your school.
