August 21 Work Session - Prior to the work session, trustees held a brief open meeting to adopt on first and final reading Policy FNA - Student Expression. Trustees then heard the following reports.

1. Staff updated trustees about the planned Employee Child Care Program, including services, educational benefits, a committee timelinenew window and negotiations to purchase Pebblecreek Montessori School (Coit/Spring Creek, south east corner) to house the program. The facility will provide space for approximately 120 students and will eliminate the need to construct additions to Beaty and Pearson Early Childhood Schools for this program.
2. Superintendent Doug Otto and his leadership team provided summaries of 2006-07 District Goals, including major initiatives, goals attainment and results.

August 22 Retreat - Trustees held a retreat with City of Plano officials this week to discuss, among other items, upcoming strategic planning efforts and bond elections. View agendanew window.
September 4 Meeting - Trustees will conduct a business meeting on Tuesday, September 4, at the PISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street. The agenda will be posted online late next week.
