Creating a New Vision for Texas Public Schools
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto presents the Public Education Visioning Institute’s report "Creating a New Vision for Public Education in Texas.” The institute consists of 35 public school superintendents whose goal is to help make Texas public schools better for students by engaging the digital generation, moving towards accountability that inspires and gaining more local control for education.
Wyatt Elementary Staff Knits Scarves
for Special Olympic World Games
Wyatt Elementary School staff members recently knit scarves for participants of the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, which are underway through February 13 in Idaho. Sixteen scarves were made in blue and white to match the Special Olympics logo. The games will feature approximately 3,000 athletes from more than 100 countries and 6,000 volunteers.
February 3 School Board Meeting Update
Trustees took the following action at their February 3 meeting:
The February 3 board meeting can be viewed on Plano Time-Warner Cable Channel 99 and Verizon FIOS 33 at 8:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and at noon on Saturday. Trustees' next meeting will be a work session at 6:00 p.m. on February 16 at the Sockwell Center.
